Playa Pietra is located in the Papagayo Gulf in Guanacaste, 248 km from the capital of Costa Rica, San José, just 28 kms from Liberia.

This beach has the shape of a small bay of 400 meters long, decorated with golden sand and crystalline water. It has a soft swell ideal for the entertainment of all the family as well as a dense tropical dry forest.
From the beach you can observe a small island called Las Chocoyas. It is guarded on both sides by peaks, separating it from Playa Pan de Azúcar (Sugar Beach) on the north and Playa Penca (Penca Beach) on the south. 

Punta Pietra (Pietra Peak) is located at the south corner of the beach.
