This beach is located in the northwest of Costa Rica, in Bahía Ocotal (Ocotal Bay), Guanacaste. It is 40 km away from Liberia, 257 kilometers from the capital, San José.

Playa del Coco is 3 kilometers long and it has experienced an intense touristic development, is it one of the most visited beaches in Costa Rica.

At the same time this is a particular place to coordinate different boat tours. From here you can access two of the most famous point breaks for surfers worldwide, “Roca Bruja” (Witches Rock) and “Ollies Point”.

This is also a great place to organize fishing or diving trips to its nearby islands: Pelonas, Catalinas and Bat.

Its grey sand is accompanied by a soft swell, caused by the natural rocky protection. It’s a great place for swimming and for parking boats.

Playa del Coco has a horseshoe shape and in front of it you can observe the Islote Centinela (Centinela Islet) which is made up of white sand.
